High school seniors within the Jo-Carroll Energy service territory are encouraged to apply for one of 26 scholarships to be awarded to the sons and daughters of cooperative members in 2022.
"The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist cooperative member families in our service area," said Mike Casper, Jo-Carroll Energy president and CEO. "We strive to make a difference in our communities, and we think helping our youth is one of the best ways to do this.:
In 2022, JCE will award six $1,000 JCE Scholarships to current high school seniors whose parents or guardians are members of Jo-Carroll Energy. Two scholarships will be awarded in both Jo Daviess and Carroll counties and one each in Whiteside and Henry counties.
An additional four $1,000 scholarships - one in each county within the co-op's service territory - will be awarded to students who plan to attend two-year, technical or trade schools.
Ten Director's Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each will go to students who plan to attend a lineworker school. Applicants or their parent/legal guardian must be co-op members.
Up to four Adult Student Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each are also available. Applicants must be a current Jo-Carroll Energy member in good standing and have their name on an active account. One scholarship can be awarded in each of the four counties where the cooperative provides service.
Deadline for applications is March 1, 2022 with the exception of the Director's Scholarships that have a May 1, 2022 deadline.
