The JCE Co-op Board of Directors has approved changes to the cooperative’s director districts through a redistricting process. As a result, some members may now be located in a different board district, and their director representative may have changed. Members can find their current district by reviewing the map or looking their most recent bill. Members can learn more about each director by visiting the Board of Directors page.
Any JCE Co-op member whose primary residence is in a district that is up for election—including the incumbent – may petition for nomination. Petition forms can be downloaded from the cooperative’s website or picked up at a co-op office.
Petitions must be signed by at least 25 JCE Co-op members residing in the district for which the director is to be elected.
In order to qualify to have their name on the ballot, all nominees must also participate in an orientation process, assuring that all nominees fully understand the expectations and responsibilities of directors. These include, but are not limited to, time demands, education expectations and fiduciary duties.
All eligible candidates will be listed on the cooperative’s website and in the co-op’s monthly newsletter, Hi-Lines.
Complete details on director qualifications and the nomination procedure can be found in the cooperative bylaws.
Running for the JCE Co-op board of directors and voting in the elections are benefits of being a co-op member. Each member of the board of directors is elected by the members of the district they represent.
Board directors serve three-year terms. Any JCE Board District member residing in a district that is up for election - including the incumbent director - may petition for nomination in that district. Your membership district can be found on your monthly bill from the cooperative.
