IMPORTANT: ACP Ending 2024

The Affordable Connectivity Program is expected to end in April 2024. Congress has not set aside additional funding to keep the program going, and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is preparing to wind the program down. The FCC stopped accepting new applications on Feb. 7. To learn more about why the program is ending, please visit the ACP Wind-Down Fact Sheet.

Based on information from the FCC, we anticipate that members receiving an ACP benefit will receive their final $30 reimbursement for their April internet bill.

JCE Co-op recognizes affordability is a critical component of the successful adoption of rural broadband. In January 2024, a group of lawmakers introduced the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act (S.3565/H.R. 6929), that would keep ACP funded through the end of 2024.  The bill is supported by more than 400 organizations, including the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) of which JCE Co-op is a member.

If you would like to take action, we encourage our members to visit the DontDisconnectUS.org website to help promote reaching out to their local members of Congress to rescue the program and support funding for the ACP.
